Level 2 EV charging: The smarter way to charge your vehicle at home
Level 1 Charging
Level 1 charging means simply plugging the battery-operated vehicle into a standard, 120-volt household outlet. Many EV drivers find the 4 to 5 miles of range per hour that Level 1 charging provides isn’t enough to keep up with daily driving needs.
Level 2 Charging
JuiceBox 40 Level 2 charging utilizes a 240-volt outlet, which offers a much faster charge time of 12 to 60 miles of range per hour. This makes the JuiceBox 40 the most practical at-home EV charger for daily drivers.
Level 3 Charging
Level 3 charging, often called DC fast charging, provides the quickest charging rate, but the high installation costs, the need for a licensed electrician, and complex infrastructure requirements make this charging method impractical as a home charging unit. Level 3 chargers are typically found at public charging stations or Tesla Supercharger stations.

- Set charging schedules so that your EV uses cheaper electricity. Many utilities offer Time-of-Use (TOU) rate plans, which make electricity cheaper at certain times of day. By scheduling your EV’s charging to those times when electricity is cheaper, you save money.

Plug-in JuiceBoxes come with either a 240-volt NEMA 14-50P plug or a 240-volt NEMA 6-50P plug, which connect to a NEMA 14-50R or NEMA 6-50R receptacle often used for high-powered household items. The NEMA plug is more flexible than a hardwire set up, because it allows you to take JuiceBox with you on the go — either when traveling on a trip, or the next time you move residences.
We also offer a 3-year limited warranty on residential charging stations. Please note that this warranty is only valid for use under normal residential operating conditions. Using a residential box outside of normal residential operating conditions, such as for commercial application, voids the residential warranty.
